London — my hometown. I’ve always felt it to be a centre of the world, not simply because I live here, but because so much of the world exists within it. People from every continent, cuisines, histories, and layers of influence — much of it gathered through empire, contested and unresolved, yet undeniably present.
Despite its challenges, London still offers countless, everyday examples of coexistence — something the world feels in short supply of right now. Its infrastructure is ageing and strained, and the city often feels as though it is trading on former glories while others catch up and move ahead. And yet, despite everything, London retains an indefinable charm that endures. For all its contradictions, it is — and always will be — home.
